Non-Traditional Wedding DJs is a wedding DJ agency based in Philadelphia and New York City. We have a roster of about 30 DJs and perform at hundreds of weddings a year. We are hiring at two levels.

You are a DJ with real experience, but you have not done many weddings yet. That is totally fine. Our office handles the client communication, the timelines, and the logistics. Your job is to show up, provide equipment, and play great music. Every wedding you do with us builds your portfolio and your confidence in the wedding world.
Once you complete ten weddings with us, you move up to the Main Tier rate of $2,000 per wedding.
You have done weddings before. You know the flow of a reception, you can handle anything that comes up, and you do not need hand-holding. You come in at our Main Tier rate from your very first booking with us.
Bookings come through our office. We are a 5-star rated company on Google and The Knot. You focus on the music. We handle everything else.
You know how to mix. Club, bar, warehouse, real experience behind the decks, not just playing playlists.
Your taste leans indie, alternative, soul, or funk. Our couples tend to want music that feels personal and curated, not a generic wedding playlist. Think Vampire Weekend, LCD Soundsystem, Khruangbin, Tame Impala, Frank Ocean, Solange, Bon Iver, or Blood Orange. If that sounds like your world, we want to hear from you.
You can keep your mouth shut. Minimal announcements only, in a natural voice. If you love being an MC or event host, this is not the right gig.
You will DJ for everyone. That includes gay couples. That includes gay male couples. This is non-negotiable and if that is a problem, please do not apply.
You are organized and responsive. Our couples expect same day replies and a smooth planning process. We need DJs who answer messages quickly and keep their calendar and commitments in order.
Before each wedding there is a 30-minute sales call with the couple and a 30-minute final planning call. These are part of the job and are not compensated separately. The per-wedding rate covers everything.
You have your gear or are willing to buy it. Minimum: three speakers and two mics, one wireless.
You can get yourself and your gear to the venue. Car, rental, Uber, we do not care, as long as you can make it work.

Bookings come to you through our office. You do not have to hustle for clients.
You are backed by a 5-star rated company on Google and The Knot. We have the most wedding DJs and book the most weddings of any company in New York City.
Our admin team handles the client relationships before and after booking the wedding so you can focus on the music.
We are actively building a diverse roster and we mean that. We are not just saying it.
